Acolyting offers young people in grades 7-12 the opportunity to serve as ministers in Cathedral (currently Averyt Hall) worship. Acolytes lead processions, take responsibility for lighting and extinguishing candles and assist priests and deacons in preparation for communion. There are approximately six teams - each headed by one or two senior acolytes.  One of the six teams serves at either the 9:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. Sunday services.  During the summer worship schedule teams combine to serve at the 10:00 a.m. worship service. Throughout the year, acolytes may also be asked to serve at weddings, funerals and other special services. 

You may also be contacted to serve as an acolyte during special seasonal services such as weddings, funerals, etc.
