Basketball

Dear Parents,

I want to introduce myself, my name is Brian Silldorff and I have served as the Canon for Youth Ministries for Trinity Cathedral for the past three years.  Recently I was given the responsibility of assisting our lay leadership as the staff liaison to youth basketball.  I am excited to share the news that a dedicated committee of past and new youth basketball volunteers has been assembled to look at every aspect of our program and assist in setting a course for our future.  Please review some of the changes that will take place this season as you prepare to register your youth.

  • The Jersey is yours!  A decision was made to purchase all new jerseys that players will keep at the end of the season.
  • All students are expected to be at our new skills day on the afternoon of Sunday, November 6th (details and times TBA).
  • All 3rd-5th grade teams will play with the Columbia Interfaith League (CIBL). These teams will be divided by grade and gender.
  • All 6th-12th grade teams will play with the Christian Youth Basketball League (CYBL). These teams will be divided by gender in the following age categories:
    6th&7th, 8th&9th and 10th-12th.

  • There will be a team chaplain training for all youth interested in serving as a student chaplain for their team.
  • The basketball fee is being raised to $75.  This change in fee will cover the new uniforms that students get to keep, and gym supervision.

Please contact me I you have any questions about these changes.  I am looking forward to a great season with a great group of volunteers.  I will see you in the stands and your youth on the court.

God’s Peace,

Brian J. Silldorff
Canon for Youth Ministries
