Roger Hutchison is the Canon for Children's Ministries and Director of the Trinity Center for Mission and Ministry. He joined the staff in March of 1998 after serving churches in Asheville, Sumter, and Myrtle Beach. Roger, the son of an Episcopal priest, spent many summers working at Kanuga Camp and Conference Center, and has worked extensively with the local, diocesan, and national Episcopal Church. Roger also enjoys creative writing, painting, photography and gardening. Most of all, Roger enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin, daughter Riley (5), and their cockapoo, Scout. Roger received his undergraduate degree from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC and has completed some Master's Level work at Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA.
Children's Ministry at Trinity Cathedral provides programs and opportunities for all children to study the Scriptures, history and heritage of Christianity and the Episcopal Church. We are also challenged and encouraged to serve others - to give of our heart, our time, and our treasures. We also strive to provide offerings for children not just on Sundays, but on weekdays, and through special events that mark the church seasons. In addition to the study of the Scriptures, the church school curriculum offers the experience of what it means to be a part of a Christian faith community.
If you are interested in serving as a volunteer or you have questions or concerns related to the children's program at Trinity, please contact Roger Hutchison, Canon for Children's Ministries, 771-7300, or via e-mail.
