Trinity Cathedral's Christian Formation program for children:
*receives, nurtures and treasures each child as a gift from God
*proclaims the Gospel to children in ways that empower them to receive and respond to God’s love
*includes children, in fulfillment of the Baptismal Covenant, as members and full participants in the Eucharistic community and in the church’s common life of prayer, witness and service
Children's worship bulletins are available for your children during the 9:00 and 11:30 a.m. services. Each bulletin provides children with aids to understanding and participating in worship. You will be able to pick up a bulletin and crayon in the narthex or the south transept entrance.
Liturgy Preparation. Children age 3-grade 2 are invited to Liturgy Preparation each Sunday. The children process through the south transept doors following the first lesson. Liturgy Preparation is based on the works of Jerome Berryman and is taught using his Montessori based curriculum called Godly Play. Godly Play offers a creative, child-honoring way of entering into and experiencing the Liturgy of the Word. Through this powerful language and through our wondering children hear the deepest invitation of all: and invitation to come and play with God. Liturgy Prep for 5-year-olds is Gospel-centered. The purpose stated for 5-year-old Liturgy Preparation is to begin to introduce pre-readers to the Gospel Lessons. Liturgy Prep for grades 1 and 2 will provide another opportunity for our children to learn and grow in their worship and faith experience. This group meets in Keenan Chapel. Each week, we will focus on the Gospel, and will follow a format similar to that of the Cathedral worship service. The contacts for Liturgy Prep are: Bibs Babson for ages 3-5, and Lucy Barwick for children in grades 1 and 2.
