Trinity Episcopal Cathedral is located on the corner of Sumter and Gervais streets - across from the South Carolina State House; the Cathedral occupies the entire block bordered by Sumter, Gervais, Marion, and Senate streets. The administrative offices are located in the Cathedral House on the Marion Street side, which is accessible from the parking lot on the corner of Senate and Marion streets. Offices for the Diocese of Upper South Carolina are located in the Diocesan House, also in this complex.
Driving to Trinity Cathedral from Interstate 26 (coming north from Charleston or south from Greenville):
At Columbia take I-126 into the city. When the interstate ends, take Huger Street (to the right). Proceed on Huger Street for 9 blocks, then turn left on Gervais Street. Proceed on Gervais for 7 blocks, then turn right on Marion Street - the Cathedral offices will be on your right. Turn right at the second driveway for parking; on-street parking is also available on Senate and Marion streets. (Note: Immediately prior to Trinity, you will pass in front of the South Carolina State House.)
Driving to Trinity Cathedral from Interstate 20:
Take the I-26 East exit, then follow I-126 toward downtown Columbia (I-26 will split off to the right, toward Charleston). Follow the directions in the preceding paragraph.
Driving to Trinity Cathedral from Interstate 77 (coming south from Charlotte):
At Columbia take 277 into the city, which will put you on Bull Street. Proceed on Bull Street for 7 blocks, then turn right on Gervais Street. After 1 block turn left on Marion Street. Turn right at the second driveway for parking; on-street parking is also available on Marion and Senate streets.
