PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
The Prayer Shawl Ministry was created in 1998 in the U.S. and has evolved into Prayer Shawl Ministries across the country. Knitters, crocheters, quilters and weavers are members of these ministries. To take a direct quote from the Prayer Shawl Ministry Home Page:
"Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into every shawl."
At Trinity we are currently focusing on creating prayer shawls, and sometimes lap robes, for those who have suffered a significant loss or are living with acute stress, whether physical or emotional. Depending on how many knitters and crocheters participate, we are hoping to be able to expand the ministry to include baby blankets.
Beginner and experienced knitters and crocheters are invited to join this ministry.
** The Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair will be held October 22-24, 2010 in Fletcher, North Carolina.

Prayer for All
Dear Lord, please bless these needles of mine.
That I may make a shawl of strength, faith,
health and love. Give this shawl the ability to comfort,
the ability to heal, the ability to give strength
where it is needed and of your will it to be.
May the recipient be able to know that you are with
them and that they are not alone.
That they are cared for and loved and prayed for.
That your loving arms are around them,
to protect them for whatever reason they should need,
whenever they put this shawl on.
Lord, thank you for the
blessings that this shawl is given. Amen.
