Aftercare Visitation Ministry
The mission of the After Care Team is to assist our Trinity members and their families during the several weeks of recovery following hospital stays. During this time several short term needs might arise that can be addressed by our team of volunteers. For instance, an often appreciated support service during this "After Care" period is to offer the family casseroles prepared by the Daughters of the Holy Cross. Another form of assistance that might be helpful is to offer short term transportation help to the patient, for such purposes as going to a doctor's appointment or to the drugstore.
There is a team of approximately fifteen volunteers who are available for these services. If you are in need of assistance following an illness, accident or surgery, or if you know of a parishioner who might benefit from the After Care Team, please call the church office, or Calvert Klopp (coordinator) at 736-5748.
Bereaved Care Visitation Ministry
This Lay Visitation Ministry is made of volunteers who seek to provide comfort of the Holy Spirit for grieving families through practical, everyday means. Upon receiving notification of the death of a parishioner, the leader calls the home and arranges for a gift supply of paper goods to be taken to the family. A volunteer takes the gift bag and offers assistance with any tasks the family might need, such as being at the home to answer the door and telephone, staying at the home during the funeral, providing a meal, and picking up family members arriving by air. If the family would like, a reception can be held at church following services. A Reception Committee will host and prepare a suitable space for the family to gather with friends. Another group of volunteers writes notes of condolence to all parishioners who grieve the loss of a loved one.
