Aftercare and Bereaved Care Visitation Ministries

Aftercare Visitation Ministry
These volunteers are assigned the names of patients discharged from the hospitals as noted by the leader from the daily report relayed by the receptionist at Trinity. The visitor calls the person at home and, depending on the response, will visit, possibly with food prepared by the Daughters of the Holy Cross. Calvert Klopp, leader.

Bereaved Care Visitation Ministry
Upon notification of a death of a parishoner, the leader assigns a volunteer to go to the home, taking a supply of paper goods as a practical help in serving meals. These visitors offer support to the family in a number of ways - having someone stay at the home to answer the door or telephone, preparing a meal to bring in, or being at the home during the funeral. Notes of condolence are written on behalf of the parish family, to all members who have experienced the loss of a loved one. We remember the bereaved in our prayers. Betty Humphreys, leader.
