FITNESS CLASSES - Expert instruction in successful aging and older adult wellness is available through individual exercise programs and water aerobics classes. The Still Hopes Wellness Program strives to help all participants achieve their full potential in mind, body and spirit.
REHABILITATION AND PHYSICAL THERAPY - With physician orders, those age 55 and older can get therapy covered by Medicare Part B in the state-of-the-art fitness center and therapy pool at Marshall A. Shearouse Center for Wellness at Still Hopes. Heritage Healthcare, the therapy contractor, has an excellent reputation for rehabilitation post joint replacement and more. If joint surgery is 6 or more weeks away, consider “pre-habilitation,” preparing muscles and joints for a quicker and more complete recovery.
BRAIN FITNESS TRAINING - Train your brain to think faster, focus better, and remember more. Just as you exercise your body, it is important to exercise the mind. More and more people want to know how to keep their brains active and healthy as they age and Still Hopes’ Wellness Center is presenting a unique opportunity to do just that. Still Hopes offers Brain Fitness Classes featuring Posit Science®, Cortex™ with InSight™, an easy-to-use computer-based training program that speeds up and strengthens the brain’s ability to take in information that is absorbed through the eyes. InSight is clinically proven to have a wide range of benefits for people who use the program. In fact, studies funded by the National Institutes of Health have shown that InSight speeds up the brain’s visual processing speed by 300% and can help people maintain their health-related quality of life. The program also helps individuals stay independent and boost their confidence.
