Dear Friends in Christ,

As you know, Trinity recently had to take the extraordinary step of having to forego meeting at the cathedral for worship and instead moving our principal services online. This eventuality is one of many unfortunate consequences of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. I'm writing today to clarify some of the additional significant changes to the cathedral's calendar and regular operating schedule.

As of today, the cathedral's campus is closed, and public events of all kinds have for the time being been cancelled. This includes things like weekday worship services, Bible studies, rehearsals, fellowship groups, meals, activities, and most other events usually listed on our calendar. If you are scheduled to attend an event at the cathedral, I strongly urge you to check our website for an up-to-date list of what is and is not happening each day.

Because the COVID-19 pandemic is still developing and the situation remains rather fluid, we will have to update our calendar on a week-by-week basis. Please be assured we will make every effort to ensure you always have the latest and most accurate information that's available; if at any time you have a question about the schedule, please reach out to the individual who coordinates the activity in question, or a member of the clergy or staff.

The staff is hard at work this week developing new opportunities for worship, formation, and fellowship that we can make available using digital media. We will make these offerings, along with any other news we have about Trinity's COVID-19 response plan, available via Trinity's website; please check the website frequently for updates. We will of course also make updates available through Tidings and other regular communications.

I'm very grateful for the dedication I have seen from the members of the Trinity community to accommodate the changes we are having to make to our normal operations. Thank you for your commitment to the cathedral and its ministries. Please remember that, despite the extraordinary circumstances of the present time, we will make every effort to continue being a place where people can meet God, mature in Christ, and minister in the world. The current situation invites us to new levels of faithfulness and creativity, and I invite you to join me in discerning how God is calling us to continue to be a people whose lives are marked by faith, by hope, and by love.

If at any time I can be of any service, please don't hesitate to contact me at your convenience either via e-mail (agrosso@trinitysc.org) or telephone (803.461.7324).

Yours in Christ,

The Reverend Andrew Grosso, PhD
Acting Dean
