Dear Trinity Brothers and Sisters,

On behalf of the Vestry of Trinity Cathedral Parish and Bishop Andrew Waldo, I am pleased to announce that we have called The Reverend Dane E. Boston to be our next Dean. This exciting news is the culmination of an extensive search over many months by our Search Committee, followed by a thorough interview and two-day visit with the Vestry in Columbia. Dane will assume his new position on January 1, 2021.

Dane is fondly remembered as our Canon for Christian Formation from June 2014 until September 2016. We know him to be a humble servant of God and recall his extraordinary gifts as a biblical preacher, energetic teacher, and compassionate pastor. During his time with us, there was no doubt that Dane loved us and we loved him. It is his love for the people of Trinity that calls him back to be our Dean. We were sorry to see him go when he left us after two short years to become the Rector of Christ Church, Cooperstown, NY. It was, however, a necessary step because Dane’s time and experience as a rector have prepared him for the leadership role to which he is now being called.

Dane and his wife, Debby, are a strong team. An attorney by training, Debby currently stays home with their four young children: Eleanor, age 10, Fritz, age 6, Ruth, age 3, and Myles, age 2. We so look forward to having them all as part of our parish family.

As the search for a new dean began last winter, the Vestry charged the Search Committee to look for a priest with certain traits, gifts, and talents. Dane possesses each of these in abundance, making him the ideal fit for Trinity. Above all, the calling of The Reverend Dane E. Boston to be our Dean is the answer to our prayers. May this be the beginning of a revival for Trinity and our people, that we will be a light to the world and where our witness to the Risen Lord is inspired, so that all may know the power of His forgiveness and the hope of His resurrection.

Faithfully yours,

J. Wade Stinnette, Jr.
