24-hour prayer vigil for our nation

Cathedral
Trinity Cathedral intends to wrap the coming Election Day in prayer, and we welcome all Trinity members, family, friends and community members to join us.
This prayer vigil is strictly non-partisan and non-political.
We will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 4, the eve of Election Day, when we open the west doors of the Cathedral facing the South Carolina Statehouse and chant the Great Litany—a solemn and deeply meaningful way of praying for the world, the nation, our fellow citizens, and all of humanity.
After the Great Litany concludes, the Cathedral doors will remain open so that prayer may be offered unceasingly by individuals, small groups, and passersby the whole night before the election and through all the time that the polls are open. You may sign up for an hour here, or just stop by anytime.
At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, Trinity's choirs will lead a service of Choral Evensong with Psalms, scripture readings, hymns, anthems, and prayers for the nation. In this way we will conclude our vigil and cover the closing of the polls and the end of the 2024 election in prayer.
The services we offer will be according to The Book of Common Prayer, but people of all denominations and faith traditions are invited to participate in both the liturgies and the vigil.
