Worship and Covid-19

This is a very different time for the people of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and the world. Back in August 2020 we resumed in-person worship, and as of February 21, 2021 pre-registration will no longer be needed to attend each week.

Here is an overview of how we will operate in terms of worship and other activities during this time.

Please note, while it is our goal to always provide the most up-to-date information as possible, this information may change quickly as the situation surrounding the virus continues to change rapidly. It is always a good idea to bookmark our site and check back often for updates.

In-person Worship Schedule

We are holding two Holy Eucharist Rite services in our Cathedral each week, one at 8 am and another at 10 am each Sunday. Visit trinitysc.org/worshipguidelines to learn more. And if you have any questions, please contact our clergy, or contact Jessica Umbach, our Communications Director, at any time.

Virtual Worship Schedule

We will offer a few different opportunities for virtual worship both during the week and on Sundays. We will stream these services to our website at trinitysc.org/live as well as our Facebook page: facebook.com/TrinityCathedralSC, and they will be stored after they air on our site here.

  • Weekday Virtual Worship Opportunities:
    • Morning Prayer: held in-person in the Cathedral at 9:30 am, and livestreamed at Facebook at the same time as well; stored on our site here thereafter
    • Compline: livestreamed on Facebook at 8 pm on Wednesdays only during June, July, and August; and then stored on our site here thereafter
  • Sunday Worship:
    • We will be via livestreaming our in-person 10 am Holy Eucharist Rite II each Sunday through our site at trinitysc.org/live and Facebook Live. After the livestream, the recordings will be made available on our site here.
  • Adult Formation and Bible Study Opportunities:
    • Men of Trinity Bible Study: meets at noon each Tuesday via Zoom. Click here to contact Dean Boston for the Zoom credentials.
    • Painless Pathways: held in-person on Sundays during the summer months between our two sunday services at 9 am; visit trinitysc.org/painlesspathways for more information.

Children's and Youth Offerings

As of Sunday, June 6, Liturgy Prep has returned during our 10 am worship service on Sundays!

There are also many opportunties for your children to continue to stay connected virtually with Trinity. Click here to view the Children's and Families Ministry page.

Music at Trinity

Even though in-person singing has many limitations during this time, they are still finding creative ways to practice and meet together, both virtually and in-person. They have even found creative ways to record and share performances with the congregation while each choir person is at home - click here to view one of their videos that was recently shared.

Opportunities for Pastoral Care

Whether you are in need of support or you would like to lend a helping hand, Trinity has resources for you. To send a direct pastoral care request to our clergy, click here to submit that request through our confidential pastoral care form. If you need to contact a member of our clergy, click here for a listing with their contact info.

Financial Support for Trinity

Throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, Trinity Cathedral will continue to be a community that supports people in their efforts to cultivate their relationship with God and with one another.  Times of extraordinary need call for extraordinary faithfulness.

One very important way you can participate in the mission and ministries of the Cathedral during this challenging time is to continue supporting Trinity financially. Trinity’s Finance Office has put together a new Text to Give service that makes it very easy for you to submit your financial offerings. Whether it’s during the offertory that’s part of our virtual service at 9 am on Sundays, or while attending in-person on Sundays but still giving virtually to limit hand-to-hand contact, or at any time during the week you feel called to give, our goal is to make it easy for you to do so with this new service. Please click here to learn more about Text to Give.

Dedicated COVID-19 Resource Page

We want our parishioners to be informed about what is going on not only at Trinity, but also in the Diocese and the world. Click here to access our dedicated COVID-19 resource page, where we will link to letters from Bishop Waldo, updates from the CDC, and more.
