For more than 200 years, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral has stood at the geographic center of South Carolina to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in ways that are relevant, hopeful, and transformative for our parishioners, our community, and the world.
Our Mission and Vision
Trinity Episcopal Cathedral is a place for transformation.
Trinity is a community transformed by the Word of God, nourished by the Sacraments of the Church, and characterized by love, learning, and action for the Good News.
We want you to experience this transformation, too! We are here to help you grow in your knowledge and love of the Lord. Our programming leads us to seek God’s presence and grace in all aspects of our lives: mind, body, heart, and soul.
We are cultivating a culture of empowered, active, all-in membership by offering clear pathways for parishioners to grow in leadership.
Trinity Cathedral is a place for families.
Trinity is a place where people of all ages can grow and thrive in a lively faith. We offer special opportunities for learning, community, and service for young people – from birth through high school graduation and beyond. Trinity partners with families to lead and support them as they nurture the spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being of their children. We are a place of safety, encouragement, and development for our families.
Our children and adults come to know Jesus Christ and make him known through mission opportunities, leadership development, and educational offerings – and we have a lot of fun at the same time!
Trinity Cathedral is a place for Columbia
Trinity sits at the geographic center of our state, and we have a unique role as the cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina. As we look ahead to our Golden Jubilee in 2027, we are making bold moves to continue to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Columbia in ways that are relevant, hopeful, and transformative for our members and our community.
We will continue to grow our partnerships with community leaders and organizations, and to be a place that cares for and serves our city and state. We support and enhance the great work being done by local organizations to serve God and our neighbors. We will continue to discern the needs of our community, and offer our resources to serve those needs and spearhead meaningful change.
We will be solution-minded and fully engaged in the life of our city. We will love Columbia well!
Trinity is a place for all, and a place for you! Join us in this exciting journey as we proclaim Christ crucified and risen, and glorify our God and Father through the mighty power of the Holy Spirit.
